These five snapshots introduce key ideas and techniques for successful intervention. You don’t need a therapist or a counselor or an “intervention pro.” They can be helpful, sure. But successful intervention is based on the people who know and care about the addict (or alcoholic.) You are the ones who know them– you know their defenses, their probable objections, their many reasons for not having sobered up already.
You are the ones who can apply the leverage and do the negotiations that will tip the decision to “getting help.”
RecoverySI’s Intervention resources can help you understand your leverage, learn powerful communications and negotiating techniques, and prepare for success.
